CCMS (Client and Cost Management System) Resources Page

22/01/2015

This page is a collection of helpful resources for civil practitioners interested in the new Legal Aid Agency (LAA) CCMS online billing scheme.  GCN was involved in the original CCMS pilot (in 2014) and so our team of clerks, and especially our fees clerk Alison Lillico, have already been working with this system for a period of time.

It is well documented that practitioners are encountering numerous problems using CCMS and that the LAA is aware of this. At present (Jan 2015) the system is not mandatory but we are aware that a number of firms are now using CCMS. At the LAPG Conference in November 2014, " representatives of the LAA conceded that the CCMS system posed many issues and was complicated to use ".  In June 2015, the LAA announced that the mandatory implementation of CCMS would be delayed by 4 months to 1st February 2016.  In December 2015, the LAA announced a temporarily waive the Mandatory Electronic Working requirement for a further period until 1 April 2016 [except for Special Children Act 1989 Cases commence Mandatory Electronic Working Requirements from 1st February 2016].

Our fees clerk, Alison Lillico, has produced the Guidance note below for our our solicitors:
